How The Grinch Stole Christmas! (Cartoon) – Review Junction

How the Grinch stole Christma… Uh… Zack We’re not allowed to say that. It’s not politically correct. But I’m not even Christian. Still… Can’t do it. Well what… What do you want me to say than? How the Grinch stole the Holidays? How the Grinch stole the Holi… Fuck it. How the Grinch stole Christmas! How the Grinch stole Christmas is a movie set in the fantasy world of the Who’s. In this world, all of the Who’s are getting ready for the greatest of all Holiday’s, Christmas! However unknown to them is a mean old Grinch lurking in the mountains, who cannot bear the festive season and is concocting a plan to ruin Christmas for all Who’s alike. As a story it really doesn’t get any more basic. But what do you expect from Dr. Seuss. Yes it’s no Nolan piece, but for what it is How the Grinch stole Christmas is perfect. It’s only thirty minutes, which is great because it allows to tell the story it means to tell without dragging out. It’s also good for children, because lets face it they don’t have the best attention span these days. Within these thirty minutes it never once goes off track. Staying straight to the point and true to the theme. How the Grinch Stole Christmas doesn’t really have much of a cast. I’m not saying its bad, it’s just really small. Boris Karloff did pretty much all of the work doing both the voice of the narrator and the Grinch. However he owned both of the roles. The narrators voice fits perfectly into the story and the grinch sounds menacing in an original way. Other than Boris Karloff however, none of the cast really matters, they barely even have a line. I hate musicals! Well modern musicals to be exact. The grinch on the other hand stole the show. Not only was it well written Thurl Ravenscroft did an amazing job singing. Giving both dark but playful feel to the movie. The sound quality however isn’t the best, but you have to consider that this movie was made in the sixty’s. So I think it gets a pass. The art on the other hand was awesome. Yes it is noticeably old However Dr. Seuss’s art style still manages to be amazing in a kind of wacky crazy sort of way. In a way it almost holds up. To conclude How the Grinch stole Christmas is an amazing movie for the Holiday Season. If you want something to give a quick jolt of nostalgia or something quick to throw on for the kids there’s no better How the Grinch stole Christmas is and always will be a classic and you should definitely add it to your collection. Because How the Grinch stole Christmas gets an 8/10. So thanks for watching guys! If you enjoyed the video be sure to hit that subscribe button.
