Getting to Know UIS: Performing Arts Center

Hi, I’m Bryan Rives, director of the UIS
Performing Arts Center located inside the Public Affairs Center Building. The Performing Arts Center is home to two
performance venues…the two-thousand seat Sangamon Auditorium…and the intimate 124-seat
UIS Studio Theater…where no one is more than 35 feet from the stage. More than 75-thousand people attend over 100
events each year at the UIS Performing Arts Center. From National Broadway tours…to concerts…to
comedians and family-friendly shows…there is something for everyone on our schedule
of events. Even school children participate with over
14,000 kindergarten through 12th grade students coming here each year on field trips to attend
age appropriate educational programming. To see what events are coming up, just visit
us online at UISpac.com. And be sure to sign up for our email club
so you always know when new events have been announced. Of course, if you are on campus, you can always
tell when there is a nighttime performance underway, just look up and you will see our
iconic roof-top searchlights sweeping over the campus. The UIS Performing Arts Center, when you see
the lights, come see the show!
